Dogs often exhibit behaviors that are unacceptable to owners.
Chewing • House soiling • Barking • Fearfulness • Aggression • Separation Issues • Innappropriate greetings (jumping)
The underlying reasons for these problems must be understood before modification can take place. We'll first schedule a lengthy fact-finding interview, and then possibly a specific vet check, prior to any program implementation. Recommendations will then be made to manage the problem(s) while specific training and or desensitization protocols are followed.
The consultation is normally a 2.5-hour visit and is done in your home. During that time I will:
Observe your dog's behavior in your home environment.
Discuss the possible origins of your dog's behavior issues.
Discuss any risks.
Discuss options for management and/or behavior modification.
It is important to realize that the Behavior Consultation will not immediately "fix" your dog's problem. It will help assess the severity of the problem you're living with, the possible risks and ramifications for your family, and potential for improvement. This information will help you make decisions that are right for you.
